In book two of the Elliot Blake series, Elliot is promoted to Head of Claims at Auto, Home, and Life Amalgamated. In his first big case, Elliot investigates the death of Leonard Lehnert, the star of a popular radio show called The Shadow’s Voice, a fictional 1948 radio drama. Lehnert’s wife claims her husband drowned in a boating accident, but Elliot isn’t sure that it was an accident.
While the investigation proceeds, Elliot and Vito’s relationship grows and is tested, as Elliot delves into a world hidden from the rest of society. |
